| Ethel - Piano/Strings Also a native of Evansville. Ethel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Evansville College, with a major in piano and a minor in cello, and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Evansville. Ethel retired from the Evansville School Corporation in 1990, after 36 years of teaching general music. She performed with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra for six years and is active in Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity. |
Noah - Guitar/Bass A native of Evansville, Noah began playing guitar at the age of 11 when he enrolled in lessons at Opus 1 Music. He plays and teaches a diverse range of musical styles and has developed a system of musical teaching that focuses on the student's individual interests to make learning fun. |
| Kevin - Piano/Guitar Kevin joined the teaching staff of Opus 1 Music in 2003 and enjoys working with students of all ages. Kevin began teaching music in 1985. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Southern Baptist University with a minor in music and a Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kevin's diverse experience ranges from symphonic and orchestral to playing in rock, country, jazz, pep, marching and gospel bands. Kevin is a praise & worship director and performs along with his wife, Brenda, at church services in Illinois. |
Julie - Piano/Voice Julie, a resident of Henderson, KY, brings over 20 years of piano teaching experience to Opus 1 Music. She is skilled at teaching both the chord approach to playing and the traditional methodology. Julie teaches beginner through advanced levels. She is a graduate of Murray State University and is an active participating member of both the Kentucky and Indiana Music Teacher's Association(MTA). |
| Dawn - Piano Dawn joined the Opus 1 teaching staff in January of 2008. She isa graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and Oakland City University with a BS and BA in Elementary Education. Dawn has a passion for both music and teaching and has over ten years of piano teaching experience. A native of Princeton, Dawn was a former piano study of Red Wick, and played piano and organ for her church services. She now resides in Newburgh with her husband, daughter, and three huskies. |
Luke - PercussionLuke, a previous student of Opus 1 Music, has over 10 years of drumming experience. In addition to playing drums, he also studied guitar, bass, and piano. Luke is a native of Boonville, Indiana where he currently resides while attending USI. Luke is passionate about music and has performed with many different bands in the area and he enjoys teaching music. His teaching experience ranges from ages 8 to adult. |
| Judy - Violin/Viola Judy is a graduate of the University of Evansville with a degree in music education. A native of Evansville, she returned home in 2010 after living in Texas for 27 years. While living in Texas, Judy taught orchestra for 22 years in the Texas public schools. In addition to teaching music she spent five years as a Junior High School counselor. In fulfilling her passion for music and her community, she now plays with the Christian Fellowship Church Orchestra and volunteers her free time at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. |
Matthew - Guitar/Bass Matt studied privately for nine years before challenging himself at the college level. Matt's music has taken him all over Indiana, not to mention as far away as New York and the Virgin Islands. Matt has performed in Rock, Bluegrass, and Praise Bands. |
